Nicaragua's undefeated Randy "El Matador" Caballero has secured the opportunity to challenge the world bantamweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), after scoring a knockout win in a final eliminator against Kohei Oba on Friday as part of a card in the Central Gym of Kobe, Japan. Caballero (21-0, 13 KOs) knocked out Oba (35-3-1, 14 KOs) in the eight round and now looks ahead at facing IBF champion Stuey Hall of the UK.
Caballero was the more aggressive fighter and always maintained control over Oba. It was Caballero's first appearance outside of the United States. He represented by Golden Boy Promotions, who sent matchmaker Robert Diaz to watch over things in Japan.
