At the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada, Peter Quillin (24-0, 18 KOs) got the biggest win of his career with a three round stoppage of Jesse Brinkley (35-6, 22 KOs) in a super middleweight contest. Brinkley got battered with right hands until the referee waved it off. The 34-year-old Brinkley suffered his second loss in a row and it is probably going to be his last big, televised fight. He put up a game effort in Montreal last October against IBF champion Lucian Bute, but he took a bad beating in the fight and after a few knockdowns he was stopped in the ninth with a hook to the body. The beating Brinkley took against Bute may have taken something away from him on a permanent basis.
