BoxingScene.com was advised by promoter Lou DiBella that he signed middleweight contender Peter Manfredo Jr. (35-6, 19KOs). Manfredo, 29, has won four in a row since a three round TKO loss to Sakio Bika in a 2008 super middleweight contest. Manfredo has since dropped down to 160-pounds.

"I think he's a good fighter in a wide-open middleweight division. He's one of the most popular fighters in New England and I believe he can be a threat at 160-pounds," DiBella said.

Manfredo may return to the ring in October. DiBella is considering a Broadway Boxing event in New England with Manfredo as the obvious headliner. Manfredo became a free agent when his contract ran out with TKO Promotions. He was previously promoted by DiBella's good friend Jimmy Burchfield, who runs regular shows in the New England area.

"There might be a chance that we go to New England. Jimmy is a very good promoter and if we go to New England, it's very possible that we'll work together," DiBella said.
