Peter Fury, trainer and uncle of undefeated heavyweight contender Hughie Fury (26-0, 10 KOs), is confident that his son will not make the same mistakes as his cousin, Tyson Fury.

Tyson, an undefeated heavyweight himself, put on the performance of his career in November 2015 - when he traveled to Germany and handed Wladimir Klitschko his first career defeat to capture the WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO world titles.

But Tyson's reign never lasted and he never made his first defense of the belts. The IBF title was quickly snatched away because Fury was unable to make a mandatory defense against Czar Glazkov. A contractual obligation to Klitschko prevented that fight from taking place.

Tyson was scheduled to have a rematch with Klitschko, but withdrew from two scheduled dates.

Last October, he vacated all of his titles and admitted that he was suffering from severe depression and substance abuse problems.

The vacant WBO title was filled with a new owner in December, when Joseph Parker won a close twelve round majority decision over Andy Ruiz.

David Haye was the mandatory challenger to the title. He decided to go in another direction and signed on to fight domestic rival Tony Bellew on March 4th.

After Haye left his mandatory post, Hughie Fury filled the void. A purse bid was held last week by the IBF, with Parker's promoter submitted the winning bid. The fight is slated to take place in April, with the venue still to be decided.

"Hughie is an exceptional character. He doesn't drink, he doesn't smoke, he doesn't do anything," Peter Fury said to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I don't see where he can fall out of bed or go wrong. He is a nice young man in and out of the ring. He doesn't put on any image or front. He is a just a consummate professional - totally dedicated."

"I am highly confident Hughie will tow the line. He will be sensible - but, then again, I didn't think Tyson would ever do the things he has done. I'm not saying he's a quiet lad, but he is just normal. He is very pleasant, he's got no pressures. He's not married. He is totally dedicated to his sport."

"[Regarding Tyson], there has been a lot mistakes made after winning the world title. He has made a lot of bad judgements. Whatever he does in the future, I am very proud of him for what he achieved in the sport."
