Peter Fedorenko took a sabbatical from boxing in 1999 but is now back in the limelight after a solitary comeback win – a TKO victory over Wayne Reed last September.  The Sheffield-based boxer takes part in the inaugural Prizefighter: The Super-middleweights tournament at York Hall, Bethnal Green later tonight and he can barely believe his luck.

“I have no idea why I was picked, but I am very grateful for the chance,” said Peter when speaking to Bob Westerdale of The Star.  “I will feel a bit nervous because it is a big occasion but I want to try my best and see what happens.”

At 32 and coming off a long layoff, Peter is unlikely to go all the way; however, his first round opponent Jeff Evans is a 3-fight novice, no KOs, so there is hope for Fedorenko, who is 5-2 (3).
