Sam Garcia, assistant trainer of Eloy "The Prince" Perez (16-0) of Salinas, California has informed BoxingScene.com that Perez will be defending his WBC USNBC super featherweight title versus Gilberto Sanchez-Leon (21-7) of Mexicali, Mexico. This will be a test for the 5'6" Perez as Sanchez-Leon is 5'11". The 23 year old Perez is coming off a unanimous decision victory over David Rodela this past January.
The fight takes place on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley welterweight mega-fight on May 1st at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
