Who will get HBO's date of December 5? All sorts of rumors are going around the industry. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has been pretty grounded on his position regarding December 5 being promised by HBO as the date set aside for Shane Mosley, with Joshua Clottey as the likely opponent on the opposite end.
At the same time, BoxingScene.com has been informed by multiple sources that HBO would like to place the postponed middleweight title bout between Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams on December 5. A few sources told me that one of the solutions being thrown around is to give Pavlik-Williams the December 5 date, and move Mosley's return to December 26.
