Pavlik-Williams: Doctor Clears Kelly To Train on 10/10

According to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, WBO/WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has been cleared by a doctor to start training on October 10. The timeline would give Pavlik the right amount of time to get ready for a December 5 title defense against Paul Williams. The fight would take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City and HBO will televise.

Arum told Michael Rosenthal of the Ring Online that a doctor's report was sent to Williams' promoter Dan Goossen on Wednesday.

"Things are looking a lot better now," Goossen told Rosenthal.
