In a recent interview with PrimeraHora, WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (33-0, 24KOs) spoke his possible bout with Carlos Quintana (24-1, 19KOs) on February 2, and the possibility of moving up in weight in the near future. Williams-Quintana would top a televised HBO tripleheader.

Williams spoke highly of Quintana, but sees no chance of an upset. He also does not plan to move up to junior middleweight until he's unified some of the other titles at the weight. He was originally scheduled to unify with IBF champ Kermit Cintron on the February date, but Cintron suffered a hand injury in his November bout with Jesse Feliciano, sidelining him until March.

"I know that Carlos Quintana is a good boxer. I saw his boxing skill against Miguel Cotto and he has good abilities, but the title is going to stay with me. I want to unify all of the titles at 147-pounds before I move up in weight," Williams said.

Talks to finalize Williams-Quintana are ongoing. Quintana is looking for a $20,000 bump above the fight offer, which appears to be the only roadblock from getting the fight done.
