The latest on Paul Williams (33-0, 24KOs) vs. Carlos Quintana (24-1, 19KOs) is more of the same. According to a recent report by  Endi, Quintana is still unhappy with the amount of money being offered for the fight and has yet to sign a contract. The bout is slated to headline an HBO televised event on February 2. Quintana replaces IBF welterweight champ Kermit Cintron, who suffered a hand injury in his title defense against Jesse Feliciano on November 23.

Rafael Joglar, Quintana's manager, says that any reports of the fight being a done deal are incorrect. He says his fighter accepts the offer of challenging Williams for the WBO welterweight title, but he wants certain conditions met, like a $20,000 dollar bump in the purse.

"The information in some media reports are not correct. When Quintana said he accepts the fight, it's under certain conditions, which they have not yet to meet," Joglar said.  "We are waiting for an answer from HBO. Maybe they are looking for other opponents or to move the fight to another date. The difference in money is around $20,000. For this kind of fight, it's not alot more to come up with. It's a reasonable number that I don't believe is impossible. Quintana wants the fight."

Joglar also said there is no truth to his fighter facing Zab Judah. He says Judah's father, Yoel Judah, started the rumor, but the only fight he's trying to negotiate for Quintana is against Williams. He revealed talks are also ongoing for Quintana to sign a deal with promoter Lou DiBella.

"That is not true. The dad of Zab Judah said that, but I do not know from where he got that from.  There is no other fight planned and we are only in talks to fight Paul Williams."
