Paul Smith's elbow injury has prompted the BBBoC to send his British title defence against fellow Liverpudlian Rocky Fielding back out to purse bids. The Board have set an April 9th deadline for the submission of the bids, with the fight to take place by the end of June.
In other Smith news, Liam Smith will meet Rotherham's Navid Mansouri in a British light-middleweight title defence—the details have yet to be announced. Oldham's Jon Kays has benefitted from Liam Walsh's recent injury news; the Cromer-based champion has had to vacate his British Super featherweight title, leaving English titlist Kays and former British champion Gary Sykes free to contest the vacant belt.
Manchester's Terry Flanagan has been put forward for Walsall-based Martin Gethin's lightweight belt, bids are due in on April 9th and the fight will have to take place by the end of June. Gavin McDonnell's Super bantamweight title will be up for grabs when he meets Josh Wale on an Eddie Hearn-promoted bill. Frank Warren has secured the rights to stage Kevin Satchell versus Iain Butcher for the British flyweight belt.
