Paul Hyland Jr. has had his next fight confirmed.
The undefeated Ulsterman (15-0, 5 KOs) boxed on the inaugural Matchroom-promoted NXTGEN bill last month, scoring an entertaining, career-best points win over Peter Cope at York Hall in an eight-rounder.
And after that victory, he has been granted a spot on a world title undercard.
‘Hylo’ has been added to the same bill as Ryan Burnett’s challenge of Lee Haskins, for the latter’s IBF bantamweight world title, on June 10, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
The clash takes place at the SSE Arena in Belfast and the lightweight will be joined by a whole host of other fighters.
Further announcements regarding fighters who will box on the card will be made at a press conference in Belfast on May 3.
Steven Ward has been handed a return date.
The Manchester-based Ulsterman, 27, has raced to 3-0 in the paid ranks since turning professional last November.
And after getting win number three against Curtis Gargano in an entertaining four-round contest at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast in March, ‘The Quiet Man’ is set to come back to the same venue.
Ward will face a foe to be named on June 17, in his first scheduled six-round showdown, on the Frank Warren-promoted card which features Jamie Conlan.
The bill will be aired exclusively live on BoxNation and BT Sport, as part of the partnership with Queensberry Promotions, and is set to be topped by Paddy Barnes, Ireland’s three-time Olympian and 2016 flagbearer, as he vies for the vacant WBO European flyweight title against a foe to be confirmed in just his third fight.
Conlan, who rose from the canvas in his last fight against Yader Cardoza to win the vacant WBC International Silver title at super-flyweight, is set for a low-key affair ahead of a potential world title eliminator showdown, the card is also blessed with a cracking all-action lightweight clash between Craig Evans and Stephen Ormond as the Welshman defends his WBO European lightweight belt against the Dubliner and there will be action for undefeated prospect Lewis Crocker.
Further additions –– and ticket details –– will be revealed in due course.
