BoxingScene.com recently caught up with former champion Jean Pascal who will face Sergey Kovalev on January 30th in Montreal. Pascal previously fought the Russian in March when he was stopped in 8 rounds after putting on a gutsy performance in which he was able to stun Kovalev before being stopped.
The plan is for Kovalev to potentially face Adonis Stevenson in his next fight and Andre Ward in the fall. Pascal said that he plans on ruining those plans.
"I am going to break up the party and fight Ward or Stevenson next but Stevenson is just a chicken. I named him 'Aducknis Chickenson' because he is a chicken and right now he is our national chicken. I called him that first. Kovalev took that from me because I am the first to call him Chickenson," said Pascal.
Pascal said that Stevenson could become a star in Quebec if he would take risks but ripped his fellow Haitian saying that Stevenson won't fight him because of their fights when they were in the amateurs.
"Honestly he doesn't have a great fan base because he doesn't want to fight the best. I told him, 'you fight me and beat my ass, you become a mega-star in Quebec,' but he is too scared. Like I said, I've been there and done that. Not once but twice. Like my mama said if you can do something once you can do it twice and if you do it twice you can do it three times. So I know I can do it three times," Pascal told BoxingScene.com.
