Rama, Ont. - Heavyweight Neven Pajkic (13-0, 5 KOs) kept his Canadian title and his ubeaten record with a dominating unanimous decision win over Greg Kielsa (11-2, 5 KOs) in their main event rematch at Rumble at Rama XII. Pajkic won a the title from Kielsa in March. The scores in the rematch were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91, a mirror image to their first meeting.
Pajkic's worked him over for the majority of the fight. Kielsa tried to stage a comeback in the championship rounds. He couldn't get it together and Pajkic continued to outbox him.
"My punching speed and power improved a lot. The combinations I was throwing were landing regularly because of constant repetition in the gym," Pajkic said. "I just don't see anyone in Canada who can (defeat) me."
In the co-feature, Freddie Roach trained Ana Julaton (7-2-1, 1 KO) won the WBO women's super bantamweight title with a split decision victory over Maria Villalobos (6--4, 3 KOs). Julaton won the early rounds with her jab. Villalobos had a strong third round and even appeared to Julaton, but the referee waved it off as a slip. Julaton continued to box and wouldn't brawl with Villalobos. The rounds were close.
