Rugged Jun Paderna, the Pan Asia Boxing Association super featherweight champion is rearing to defend his title and ready to rumble when he takes on tough Thai challenger Chotipath Wongprated on Friday, September 22 at the San Andres Sports Center in Manila.
It will be Paderna’s second defense of the title which he won on a first round demolition of Thailand’s Suttisak Samaksaman last February and successfully defended the crown with a lopsided decisions against another Thai Kularbadang Kiatkrerin last April 21.
Wongprated has been training hard and has vowed to avenge the defeats of his Thai countrymen but Paderna who is reportedly in great shape wasn’t fazed even though his Thai challenger is coming off a third round knockout victory in his last fight.
In the main supporting bout WBC light flyweight Yukka Gejon who was robbed of the decision in a title fight against Japan’s Yutaka Niida in September last year will be back in action against Yoddoi Sishoei also of Thailand.
The world-rated Gejon who is a prime protégé of promoter and manager Rex "Wakee" Salud, a close friend and confidant of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao is eager to win impressively and get in line for another world title shot. Pacquiao was at ringside for the Gejon-Niida title fight and himself criticized the decision.
Adding spice to the fight card will be the participation of Viva Hot Babes as round girls. The fights will be telecast on September 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. over RPN 9 sponsored by Tanduay, the No. 1 Rhum.
