Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is not paying any attention to the latest talk that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considering another multi-year retirement. The veteran promoter, who handles the career of Manny Pacquiao, brushed off a recent video interview where Mayweather said "I'm taking a couple years off... away from the sport of boxing. I want to devote my time to my boxing gym."

Arum is trying to make the biggest fight in boxing - Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. If Mayweather actually walks away, Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto would be the frontrunners to fight Pacquiao in November. If Mayweather actually plans to walk away, Arum says the former five division champion would do it with an official release and not a video on Youtube.

"You never know with Floyd. Sometimes he just talks for the sake of talking. If Floyd plans to take a year or two off, we should be seeing a formal press release soon," Arum said.
