The hype just keeps on coming for a dream bout between pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito. For the last few weeks, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach has been talking about his fighter's request to face Margarito in the future. Pacquiao is said to be very confident of outboxing Margarito.

Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao and Margarito, recently confirmed that Pacquiao is demanding a fight with the much larger Margarito.

"Manny and [trainer] Freddie [Roach] are talking about challenging Margarito," Arum told The Los Angeles Times .

Margarito is willing to fight Pacquiao, but wants the Filipino warrior to show how well he can handle Ricky Hatton on May 2.

"I keep hearing that he wants to fight me and they [Pacquiao and Roach] say he can beat me. Let's see how well he does against Ricky Hatton at junior welterweight and then we can talk about a fight," Margarito said.

Roach recently told veteran boxing scribe Ron Borges that Pacquiao and Hatton could have went after Floyd Mayweather Jr, but they decided to fight each other. He says Pacquiao doesn't care about fighting Mayweather - he wants to land a fight with Margarito.

"They could both go to Mayweather but they all knew that’s the second fight, not the first fight. The thing is Manny doesn’t really care about fighting Mayweather. After Hatton he wants to fight Margarito. He told Arum that already. He told Arum, ‘I can outbox him all night long.’ Margarito is relentless and he’s got that iron chin but I would never underestimate Manny," Roach said.
