Moments ago Joshua Clottey reached out to BoxingScene.com to inform us that he doesn't have a signed contract to fight WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao in March, yet. Clottey has been vacationing in his native Ghana and received a phone call from his manager, Vinny Scolpino, telling him to return to the United States as soon as possible.
Negotiations have begun between Team Clottey and his promoter, Top Rank. Clottey was in good spirits and will be back on BoxingScene.com soon when they have an announcement to make.
On Thursday night, Top Rank had a message on their official Facebook page stating that Pacquiao vs. Clottey was set for March 13, but someone may have jumped the gun because the message was quickly deleted before the night was over.
