IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23KOs) could be in the cards for Manny Pacquiao down the line. Brook returns on May 30th against Frankie Gavin at the O2 Arena in London. Pacquiao was in action last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where he lost a twelve round unanimous decision against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, says Brook is certainly an option for his fighter.
"Absolutely he could fight Pacquiao. I've never met Kell but I know Eddie very well and I've done business for years with Barry his father so they're good friends of mine," Arum said.
Pacquiao is suffering from an injured right shoulder. He is set to get surgery and may not return for up to a year. In the meantime, Brook may face Brandon Rios in the summer.
"We need to see how Pacquiao's recovery goes with his shoulder, but I spoke with Bob Arum, his promoter, in Las Vegas and there is scope for a fight with Kell Brook down the line. Bob sees it as a possibility so let's watch this space," Hearn told Daily Mail.
