While media around the world continues to speculate on who Filipino boxing icon and "Hero of Asia" Manny Pacquiao will fight next, the world’s No.1 pound-for-pound fighter is enjoying a vacation in the picturesque island of Bohol with wife Jinkee, three of their four kids and adviser Michael Koncz.
When the Pacquiao family was en route to the world famous Chocolate Hills and stopped for call of nature, Koncz told us a huge crowd immediately gathered around Pacquiao and his family forcing Koncz himself to employ some crowd cotrol, cutting short our brief telephone conversation.
Word still persists that Pacquiao wants Floyd Mayweather Jr and that if Mayweather’s reported injury heals then they may clash in a megabuck fight on November 14 instead of Pacquiao facing WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto.
There was no word from Top Rank promoter Bob Arum about how his planned negotiations with the Cotto camp went althougb Cotto himself had said after his split decision win over Joshua Clottey at Madison Square Garden last Saturday that he wanted a break.
Meantime Golden Boy Promotions continues to push for a Pacquiao fight against WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley with trainer Freddie Roach himself reportedly saying the fight would bring Pacquiao more money than a clash with Cotto.
For the time being Pacquiao appears to be enjoying the speculation as to who he will fight next even as he spends quality time with his family on what is turning out to be a truly enjoyable family vacation.
