According to ABS-CBN News, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, he plans to hit the basketball court on Wednesday in the Philippines. Pacquiao is the playing coach of KIA's team, the Carnival, who are set to face the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters on Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner's Cup game.

Pacquiao is currently in General Santos City, training for his May 2nd super-fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The Filipino star, who holds the status of being the 'shortest player' in the pro Philippine league, is not exactly Kobe Bryant on the court. He gets very little playing time and it was only last week when he scored his "first ever point" in pro game in the 95-84 win against the Purefoods Hotshots - where Pacquiao came off the bench, played four minutes and 39 seconds, and missed two field goal attempts but made one of two free throws.

He says playing basketball will help him with his speed and footwork.
