Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao steps up his training at the Almendras Gym in Davao City with the assistance of Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez for his December 11 tune-up fight against IBF No. 4 ranked super bantamweight Fahsan 3K Battery, paying little attention to the Thai who continues to exude confidence he would give Pacquiao all sorts of trouble.
According to Fahsan's manager Jimmy Chaichotchuang his fighter would win either on points or by knockout. Pacquiao himself tends to laugh-off the claims of Fahsan even as he sets his sights more on the crucial rematch with Marquez scheduled for February 26.
In an earlier conversation with Viva Sports/Manila Standard, the flamboyant southpaw indicated he would take out the Thai challenger within five rounds or less while Filipino journeyman Joebar Damosmog who was knocked out by Fahsan in six rounds predicted Pacquiao would win by KO within six rounds.
Fahsan however remains steadfast and his fight plan, according to his manager, is “not to get knocked out within the first four rounds because the longer the fight lasts the better Fahsan's chances of beating Pacquiao. Fahsan who trains twice a day, in the morning and afternoon is in great shape and expects to spar around 90 rounds before leaving for Manila, according to his manager.
Fahsan disclosed that he would spar a total of 30 rounds against WBO International featherweight champion Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym who is itching to avenge his first round KO at the hands of Pacquiao in an IBF junior featherweight title fight in October 2002 and another 60 rounds with " a good Thai champion."
Although Damosmog revealed that Fahsan had a good left hook and left straight and did have some power but not as devastating as Pacquiao, Fahsan refused to reveal his so-called secret weapon adding you will see it in the fight. Fahsan said he is motivated by the opportunity to become a millionaire and a rich man and realizes he could achieve this with a big upset over Pacquiao.
