In a recent interview with The Manila Bulletin , Top Rank head Bob Arum told the paper that Manny Pacquiao will earn more money for his April 15 bout against unknown Jorge Solis in Texas, than the combined purses received by Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez for their March 17 showdown that took place in Las Vegas.
"Check with the Nevada State Athletic Commission and you’ll see that one fighter was paid $1.5 million and the other got $1.25 million," Arum told the Bulletin. "Manny will earn much more than what these two fighters got combined. Manny will get close to $5 million against Solis."
An obvious message to Golden Boy Promotions, who promote both Barrera and Marquez, by showing them that Pacquiao will indeed earn more money with his company.
Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank are currently battling in court over the promotional rights to Pacquiao.
