Manila - With another world title won, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao touched down in Manila on Tuesday keen to get back to the real work of politics.

The 37-year-old senator claimed the WBO welterweight title with a unanimous points victory over once-beaten Jessie Vargas at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday, his first bout since a dominating win in April over Timothy Bradley in a trilogy clash.

Pacquiao held a news conference upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International airport in Paranaque, Metro Manila in the Philippines

Pacquiao is now a man of many talents, splitting his time between boxing and politics. He wants to fight again in May, but he's unsure of who he would fight or the exact date. Several potential options will be explored by his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank.

“I went back after the fight because there is still work at the office and I'm excited to get back to work,” Pacquiao, wearing a flower garland, told reporters at the airport alongside Philippine National Police chief Ronald Dela Rosa.

“So boxing is done, set aside for now, and just focus on work.”

The southpaw, winner of world titles in eight different weight divisions and the first sitting senator to win a world boxing championship, has not ruled out fighting again.

The former congressman, who has a 59-6-2 win-loss-draw record, said after Saturday's bout that he would like a rematch with retired Floyd Mayweather Jr. who beat him last year.

Mayweather was sitting at ringside on Saturday, creating mass speculation that he wants to face Pacquiao in the near future. Mayweather retired in September of last year and recently admitted that he's open to the possibility of fighting again.

Arum believes a fight with Mayweather has a 75% chance of coming off, but he's not holding his breath that it will happen.
