Super featherweight Diego Magdaleno has been riding a three-fight winning streak, has benefitted from working with one of the best trainers in boxing, and is currently guided by one of the best managers in the sport.
It looks as though he may have some intriguing and interesting match-ups this fall.
As was previously announced by BoxingScene.com last week, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) ordered Michael Farenas to fight Diego Magdaleno for the number one ranking. Farenas defeated Mark Davis by technical knockout last month in an elimination bout.
While the IBF initially ordered Farenas to face Fernando Saucedo, that fight could be scrapped as Saucedo may be fighting Rances Barthelemy later this year.
While Farenas could face Magdaleno, there is another option for the Las Vegas resident.
According to at least two sources that updated Boxingscene.com recently, there is a possibility Magdaleno (26-1, 10 KOs) could also be fighting interim WBA junior lightweight title holder Bryan Vasquez. If that fight were to take place, there is a possibility it could fall on an HBO telecast, with the Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri card on November 22 being a likely choice.
Magdaleno trains in Indio, Calif. with Joel Diaz and is managed by Frank Espinoza.
