Pablo Cesar Cano ended the strongest portion of his training camp, and says he is ready to make a big impression on the 16th of March in Cancun where they will face American contender Manuel Perez. Cano hopes to land another world title opportunity in the coming months. In his last fight, Cano moved up to welterweight and lost a close twelve round split decision to WBA champion Paulie Malignaggi.
"I want to be world champion. I was already the interim world champion under the the World Boxing Association at junior welterweight, and now I want to win another title," Cano said.
Cano won that world title by beating Johan Perez. He believes the shot will come in the near future, because he is highly ranked internationally. Cano and Perez will collide in the Arena Oasis Cancun, under the promotion of Pepe Gomez. Cano, 23-years-old, has put together a pro record of 25-2, 19 knockouts and one draw, while Perez has a record of 19-8-1, 4KOs. Perez has upset wins over Jose Miguel Cotto and Edgar Santana, and only lost once by TKO to Brandon Rios.
