Mexican boxing sensation Oscar Valdez is still gathering accolades after the biggest win of his career last September 11 in Las Vegas over the one-time world championship challenger Chris Avalos.

The two-time Mexican Olympian first head line show in Las Vegas was a big success and looked devastating as he dropped Avalos once on his route to a fifth round stoppage in front of a big national TV audience on TruTv.

“I was very happy with my performance. We had a great game plan and I was able to execute. I just did what my corner told me to do and put everything we did in gym against Avalos that night and it worked to perfection,” said Valdez who is now 17-0, with 15 KO’s.
Valdez who is 3-0 this year with two knockouts, has been featured on both HBO and on tru-tv in his last two fights.

“I am very happy with the exposure in my last couple of fights, but I know that I have a lot of work to do as I get closer to the world title opportunity,” said Valdez.

Valdez will be returning to Los Angeles in the next couple of weeks as he gets ready to close out the year with a fight in December. He trains in the Rock Gym in Carson, California under Manuel “Manny” Robles and is managed by Frank Espinoza of Espinosa Boxing.

“I want to have a great fight to end the year strong and then look forward to an even better year in 2016,” said Valdez, who is the number one world ranked featherweight by the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
