Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez has finished up his first full year as a professional fighter. The undefeated featherweight prospect is viewed as a future star in the sport. He won his first eight starts, and all of them by knockout. He aims to be equally busy in 2014 and has some very high goals. Valdez wants to become a legendary Mexican boxer like Juan Manuel Marquez and Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

"I work hard every day. I'm taking everything step by step and fight by fight, but clearly my dream is to become the hope for Mexican boxing and then become a world champion, like my idols Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Manuel Marquez. I have seen up close how Canelo Alvarez and Chavez Jr. [became big names]. I want the people to believe in me. I want to make history based on my work and my fists. I win for the fans," said Valdez.
