Oscar Larios (61-6, 38KOs) stormed in to finísh Feider Viloria (21-3, 15KOs) in five torrad rounds at the Centro Internacional de Convenciones in Chetumal, Mexico.

The win earned him the interim-WBC featherweight title, and a chance for a rematch with Jorge Linares who knocked him out last July. Linares who hurt his shoulder in training was supposed to have defended his title against Feider Viloria.

Feider started well spearing the stalking Oscar with left jabs and rights to the body. But by round-four, Oscar had shaken off some ring rust, closed the range and was trapping the Colombian on the ropes with a heavy barrage.

Oscar tore into Feider at the start of round-five connecting flush with two huge right hooks from long range. Feider, who’s legs had turned to rubber bands, wobbled back across the ring.

Referee Curtis Trasher started an eight-count but waved off the fight in twenty-four seconds of the fifth, as the Colombian was still swaying lie a leaf in a tropical storm.

The result for a Mexican favorite, brought the crowd to its feet in cheers which even outstripped the national anthem, minutes before.
