Little Creek Casino, Shelton, Washington - In a crossroads fight with two boxers coming off defeats, Oscar Gonzalez (21-2, 14KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision victory over former WBA super bantamweight champion Rico Ramos (21-3, 11KOs). The scores were 98-91, 96-93 and 97-93.
Ramos started well in the first five rounds. Gonzalez dropped Ramos in the sixth after landing a hard hook to the body. That seemed to be the turning point as Gonzalez continued to press forward with in the second half of the bout with hard punches and hooks. Ramos did his best to fight inside, but he was being outworked often.
A battle of junior welterweight prospects saw Ray Lampkin Jr. (3-0, 1KO) stopped Landon Horeseman (1-1) in the third. Lampkin won the first, but Horseman took the second with a knockdown and some hard punches. Lampkin came back with a huge flurry of power punches in the final minute of the same round. In the third, Lampkin fired off with a barrage of body shots to send Horseman down for the count.
Junior middleweight prospect Oscar Molina (4-0, 3KOs) destroyed Daryl Gardner (1-2, 1KO) with a first round knockout.
