Featherweight prospect Orlando Cruz (15-0, 6KOs) wants to become the next superstar of Puerto Rico, looking up to his idols Miguel Cotto and Ivan Calderon. He returns on August 2 on the undercard to "Night of Champions," major boxing event at the Auditorio Juan Pachin Vicens in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

The headline bout will feature Joseph Agbeko making a defense of his IBF bantamweight title against William Gonzalez. Cruz will make the first defense of his IBA title against an opponent that has yet to be announced, but he feels the show will put him in the right direction. He recently changed his entire team, hiring Hector Suarez, José Ortiz and Uri Branches, to become more serious in his training.

"This is the kind of fight that will help me get recognized internationally," Cruz said. "I aspire to do bigger things, to have bigger fights and that's why I changed my team. I want to get to the level of Cotto and other prospects who are rising in Puerto Rico."
