Bantamweight contender Jonathan Oquendo, undefeated prospect Jose "Chelo" Gonzalez and heavyweight Victor Bisbal will complete the program of the event called "The Challenge" which will star featherweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Juan Manuel "Juanma "Lopez, as he defends against Filipino Bernabe Concepcion on July 10 at a presentation put together by Top Rank in Partnership with PR Best Boxing Promotions, which will be transmitted through the U.S. byk Showtime from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Oquendo (18-2, 11 KOs) will look better place in the WBO rankings at 122 pounds when he takes on Filipino Eden Sonsona, with a record of 19-5 and six knockouts and ranked at number eight by the WBO at bantamweight, where fellow boricua Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. is the champion. The Oquendo-Sonsona brawl will be at 10 rounds.
As the undefeated Chelo Gonzalez will be facing a shock contrary to advertise in a six round lightweight. For Gonzalez (10-0 and six knockouts) this will be the third fight of 2010.
On the other hand, the former Olympian Bisbal (16-1, 11 KOs) will go to his second fight of this year when he faces Terrell Nelson (8-10 and five knockouts). The clash will be six rounds at the heavyweight.
In other clashes already announced McJoe Arroyo (3-0 with one KO), will face an opponent to be designated in the bantamweight and his first fight in six round bout, while Carlos Negron (9-0 and seven KOs) will face in a cruiserweight contest set for eight rounds against Mexican Gustavo Enriquez (15-9, 12 KOs).
TV encounters will include Filipino Nonito Donaire (23-1, 15 KOs ) against Mexican Hernan "Tyson" Marquez (25-1 and 18 knockouts) for the bantamweight interim title of the World Boxing Association (WBA).
