In the last few hours, it was confirmed officially that former flyweight and super flyweight world champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Omar "El Huracan" Narvaez (43-2-2, 23 KOs ), will return for the first time since his knockout defeat to Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue last December.
The new challenge for Narvaez, located at No. 5 in the WBO world rankings at 115 pounds, will be held in the second half of September - likely on September 18th - for a regional title under the International Boxing Federation (IBF) against Dominican Diego "La Pantera" Pichardo Liriano (16-6-1, 10 KOs).
The fight is going to have a loaded undercard, according to Edgardo Rosani (Morresi), the head matchmaker of the event.
Pichardo has won four in a row since suffering his last defeat. In the coming days, the relevant details of the event will be announced to the public.
