The lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Omar 'Panterita' Figueroa, has decided to make a change in his camp for his second defense of the green belt, which takes place this August 16 at the StubHub Center in California. He faces mandatory challenger Daniel Estrada.

For the upcoming fight, Figueroa has decided not to train with coach Joel Diaz. Figueroa had no interest in going over to California for camp. Instead, he is training with his father, Omar Figueroa Sr., in Weslaco, Texas. It is still a possibility that Diaz will work the corner on fight night.

"For this camp, Omar is training with me. This time Joel Diaz was not with us. My son would not go to California. It was his decision," said Figueroa Sr. "[Diaz] will not be in camp, but maybe he will be in the fight [in Omar's corner]. I have no problem with him, he communicates with me, he respects the decision of Omar and always says that friendship is the main thing and we continue to speak to him."
