Chavez v. Paez II is ready to go for July 21. Welterweight/Junior middleweight contender Omar Chavez (28-1-1, 21 KOs) wants to avenge his only career loss, which came against Jorge Paez Jr. (31-4-1, 19 KOs), on the July date at a venue to be determined.

Zanfer will promote the contest and Azteca 7 will televise. 'Maromerito' Paez gave him his first loss in December of last year, in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, by securing a majority decision in a thrilling battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats, and this time Omar hopes for a fight that is even more intense.

"I'm ready to avenge this defeat. I'm going to arrive in excellent physical and mental condition against Paez, whom I recognize to be a great fighter. This is nothing personal, and there are rematches in the sport of boxing. I plan to show I'm better," said Chavez. "The work has already started in Las Vegas, where I came over with my brother [to take part in] his preparation."
