Jorge Paez Jr. (28-4-1, 17KOs) is reportedly the likely candidate to face Omar Chavez (26-0-1, 19KOs) in a welterweight battle on September 3 in Chiapas, Mexico. Chavez takes in his second fight of the year and Paez is his most experienced opponent to date. Paez Jr. This would be the fourth fight of the year for Paez, who started well with a win over former champion Jose Luis Castillo in March. Paez would lose a close split decision to prospect Jose Lopez in May, but came back to defeat Jesus Gurrola in July.
