Rau’shee Warren will make history the moment he steps in the ring to represent the 2012 U.S Olympic boxing squad. His appearance will make him the first ever American boxer to have fought in three separate Olympic Games.

Alas, that moment won’t come until later the week. Warren received an opening round bye, along with five other fighters in the flyweight division. The London crowd will also be denied a chance to cheer on countryman Andrew Selby, who also received a bye and will not fight until the very last fight of the Round of 16 competition later in the week.

For whatever reason, the boxing feed will air via tape delay on CNBC in the United States. Thanks to modern technology, boxing junkies can still watch live online by visiting NBC's Olympic website.

The final flyweight bout of the afternoon portion saw Tugstsogt Nyambayar of Mongolia cruise to the Round of 16 with an 18-11 win over Elvin Mamishzada of Azerbaijan. Nyambayar dominated in rounds two and three to surge ahead and will next face Italy's Vincenzo Picardi, who received an opening round bye. Nyambayar owns a win over Picardi, soundly defeating him in the 2009 World Amateur Championships.

A controversially scored second round proved to be the difference in an otherwise tightly contested affair between Hesham Abdelaal of Egypt and Benson Njangiru of Kenya. The two fought on even terms for the most part, but an 8-5 second round titled the bout in favor of Abdelaal by score of 19-16. The Egypt flyweight next faces Uzbekistan's Jasurbek Latipov, who was given an opening round bye.

Brazil’s Juliao Henriques Neto broke an early 3-3 tie after one round to surge ahead and take a 12-8 victory over Jong Chol Park of North Korea. Neto will now face Jeyvier Cintron of Puerto Rico, who topped Botswana’s Oteng Oteng by a score of 14-12 in a terrible decision  that did not at all reflect the action in the ring.

Samir Brahimi of Algeria kicked things off for the flyweight division with a 14-12 win over Australia’s Darren Woods. Brahimi will now face Misha Aloyan of Russia, the division’s top seed who was granted an opening round bye.
