The main event left a sour taste in the mouths of the ShoBox crowd.
USBA junior featherweight champion Mike Oliver (18-0, 7 KOs) won a controversial twelve-round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Gary Stark, Jr. (18-1, 8 KOs).
The two slick boxers fought at a very high pace before the Buffalo Run Casino crowd in Miami, Oklahoma. After a quick start on the cards by Oliver, it appeared that Stark took over and controlled the fight with constant body punching on the inside and a higher punch output.
The scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 115-113. A shower of boos rained down from the crowd after the decision was announced. ShoBox announcer Steve Farhood was stunned at the decision and "could not believe that Oliver won the fight."
In a mild upset, Allen "The Dream Shatterer" Conyers (11-2, 9 KOs) was rocked in the first round, but came back to stop previously undefeated junior middleweight Derek "Pooh" Ennis (10-1-1, 7 KOs) by way of a two-round TKO.
Ennis was caught against the ropes and pounded with wide looping power shots that put him in trouble and wild barrage of punches finished him off as referee Gary Ritter jumped in to stop the fight.
