Former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, Oleg Maskaev of Kazakhstan, is planning to have a meeting with WBC President Jose Sulaiman to discuss a potential comeback. Maskaev says that he never retired, but the boxer has not fought since 2009, when he was knocked out in the first round by Nagy Aguilera.
Maskaev has been training, in good shape and very interested for one final run. The 43-year-old boxer lost his belt, by sixth round TKO, to Samuel Peter on March 8, 2008 in Cancún, Quintana Roo.
Maskaev has a record of 36 wins, 27 of them by knockout, in exchange for 7 losses.
