Ohara Davies is tired of disgruntled fans harassing him in the aftermath of his technical knockout loss to Josh Taylor earlier this month.

Davies told The Sun for a story that was posted on the London tabloid’s website Thursday that fans who lost money by betting on him haven’t been shy about voicing their displeasure since the July 8 bout in Glasgow, Scotland. London’s Davies talked a lot of trash prior to that bout between unbeaten British junior welterweights, but Taylor dropped Davies twice and won by seventh-round technical knockout at Braehead Arena.

The 25-year-old Davies (15-1, 12 KOs) has been criticized for what some fans and media consider quitting against Taylor (10-0, 9 KOs).

Davies took a knee after absorbing a stiff jab near the end of the third round. He later went down from a right hook in the seventh round before turning his back on the Scottish southpaw and forcing referee Howard Foster to stop the fight.

“Everywhere I go nowadays I see boxing fans,” Davies told The Sun. “They all come up to me and the first thing they say is, ‘I put a lot of money on you for your last fight – you lost me money. I put a few grand on you.’ I say to each of them, ‘Get the f*** out of here with that bullsh*t.’

“Because basically, I remember when I fought Derry Mathews people won like two, three, four, five, six, seven grand on me. People won all that money on me and you know what? I didn’t see any of that sh*t. So if you put a bet on me and you lost that sh*t, don’t come up to me and complain. Because if you won that sh*t, you weren’t going to give me any of that sh*t, so keep your sh*t to yourself.”

Davies stopped Mathews (38-12-2, 20 KOs) in the third round of their March 4 fight at 02 Arena in London. Now that he has suffered his first professional defeat, Davies has relayed a similar message to frustrated fans who’ve accosted him the past week-and-a-half.

“For my next fight, I’m back to my winning ways,” Davies said. “If anyone wants to work out a deal, of how much of your winnings you want to give me, then private message me and let me know.”
