According to heavyweight contender Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KOs), he doesn't know anything about a planned return for the 14th of October in Berlin. The Cuban's return was announced by his promoter, Ahmet Oener, with the opponent being Varol Vekiloglu (18-2-1, 10 KOs).
"I literally don't know anything about the date of my return to boxing. I'm coming off complex knee surgery. Perhaps in the near future I will go to Germany for surgical consultation. Then I will find out when I can start rehabilitation," Solis told international reporters.
On the 19th of March, Solis suffered a very bad knee injury in the first round of his fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KOs). Solis suffered the injury after being hit and going down at a bad angle. The injury required three operations.
