The comeback of Cuban heavyweight Odlanier Solis, set for October 14, is apparently postponed and the scheduled opponent Varol Vekiloglu will now face Konstantin Airich. This fight will go ahead in Munich, Germany where Alexander Petkovic takes on John Napari for the WBFed I/C heavyweight title in the main event. Petkovic was at one a teenage prospect with Universum but retired in 2006. Later on in the same year, he returned in what has been an on and off comeback.
No surprise with Solis' postponement. A few weeks after Arena Box announced his comeback, BoxingScene.com ran a report where Solis said he was clueless regarding the scheduled October date. Solis has been recovering from a serious knee injury that he sustained in the March first round TKO loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. The boxer underwent several surgeries to correct the injury.
