BoxingScene.com has received more details about the new reality boxing show that is scheduled to start filming next month.  We previously reported that Floyd Mayweather Sr, Ruben Guerrero and Yoel Judah would serve as the show's trainers.

The three world class trainers will each train one fighter in the 140, 147 and 154 pound weight classes.  The fighters will face each other to prove who is the best of the bunch and then get a shot at a top 20 contender in the show's series finale.

BoxingScene.com has been advised that NUVOtv, an English speaking, California based channel has secured the rights to air the series. The Hispanic channel was created to cater to the modern day Latino. NUVOtv is looking to take their commitment to the next level with this new boxing reality show that is appropriately titled, "Knockout". The premier episode of the show is due to air in mid March and filming is set to begin in January.

Boxing has always been a major sport for Latinos and NUVOtv's new programming department has found the perfect show to reach their core demographic. Networks such as Showtime, which is available in over twenty million homes, and HBO, which is available in almost thirty million homes, have targeted the Hispanic market for years with their boxing programming.

NUVOtv is a new station but is currently available in 35 million homes and that number is growing.  While NUVOtv is a cable channel, and not a premium cable network like HBO or Showtime, their core customer base are some of boxing's most loyal fans and they have a bigger viewing audience that either of the premium networks.

BoxingScene.com has learned that the executive producer of the show is Steve Marcano, who proved himself in the boxing television business by bringing big time boxing to the AWE network (formerly known as WealthTV).  AWE's visibility has grown ten fold since entering the boxing business and NUVOTV should follow the same path and become nationally recognized.

The show's director, Emilio Ferrari, was in Las Vegas yesterday scouting potential gyms to host the filming of the show while also touching base with the show's three star trainers.

Stay tuned for more details including a list of special guest celebrities that will appear.
