Later today, Ural Boxing Promotions and its partners will take part in a huge international sportive festival, named “For Russia!”, which is set to take place at Traktor Ice Arena in Chelyabinsk, Russia, deep into Ural mountains. Aside of a number muay thai and kick boxing match-ups, there will be two boxing fights, both of them being sanctioned for minor WBC titles.
In what seems to be the main part of the boxing event, WBC #10 welterweight Anton Novikov (22-0, 8 KOs) squares off against Serbian challenger Bogdan Mitic (17-2, 10 KOs).
The bout is set for a vacant WBC CIS and Slovenian Boxing Bureau (WBC CISBB) welterweight title. Novikov, 24, previously owned various WBC versions of titles at middleweight, light middleweight and welterweight. Mitic, 28, has a victory over 32-5 Joel Mayo in his fifth fight as a pro.
19-year old welterweight talent Konstantin Ponomarev (12-0, 5 KOs) will also be seen inside the squared circle. Ponomarev, who fought old-school seven times the last year, will risk his WBC Youth I/C title against 21-year old Argentinean Luis Alejandro Moreno (10-1-4, 6 KOs). The fight is set for ten rounds of action.
