Quezon City, Philippines - "Fans are going to find out where I am at on Saturday night," Nonito 'Filipino Flash' Donaire said at a press conference this week in Cebu. He is taking on William Prado of Brazil for the vacant NABF Super Bantamweight Championship at the historic Araneta Coliseum on Saturday night. The event is called Pinoy Pride 30 - D Day.
Donaire, a five-division world champion, has trained for weeks in the Philippines. After his last bout - a loss to hard-punching featherweight Nicholas Walters, Donaire made a decision to return to the 122 pound weight division. He was in that division when he won the 2012 Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Fighter of the Year Award.
Donaire's record is 33-3, 21 KOs. Prado is 22-4-1, 15 KOs.
"I know exactly what is at stake in this fight. It's very important when I get into the ring on Saturday night," Donaire told reporters here.
Donaire was inducted into the prestigious 'Flash' Elorde Hall of Fame earlier this week at the historic Manila Hotel.
