A rematch between WBA "regular" super flyweight champion Nobuo Nashiro and Hugo Cazares is in talks. The two fought to a very close draw last September in Osaka, Japan. The scores were 114-114, 116-112 Cazares and 116-112 for Nashiro. Cazares felt he was robbed.

The WBA felt the fight was so close that a rematch was ordered. An decent offer was made for the champion to fight Cazares in Mexico. It was turned down. They continue to negotiate. If they can't reach an agreement soon, the fight will head to a purse bid. Cazares side will make a heavy bid if it comes to that. They want the fight to take place in Mazatlan, Mexico.
