According to well-known French newspaper “Le Parisien”, WBO #4 ranked middleweight Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam (26-0, 17 KOs), the former WBA interim titleholder originally from Cameroon, will likely stage a fight on April 20 in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, against WBO #1 ranked Ukrainian Maks Bursak (24-0-1, 10 KOs), 27, for the WBO interim 160lb belt.

The full title is being held by Russian Dmitry Pirog (19-0, 15 KOs). Pirog was slated to fight N’Jikam, also in Africa, but he suffered an injury to his left shoulder, which prevented this fight from happening. The Russian will instead fight in Moscow on May 1 against an opponent to be named later.

N’Jikam against Bursak is heading to the nearly 25,000 seat stadium in Malabo. The possibility of this fight has been confirmed by the head of K2 “Promotions Ukraine” Alexander Krasyuk. The proposed collision will be a duel of two technically sound boxer-punchers. N’jikam, also 27, has previously defeated Bursak’s ex-stablemate Avtandil Khurtsidze in a controversial fight thus making this bout a chance for Bursak to both avenge his colleague’s loss and to strengthen his position of the best Ukraine-based middleweight.
