Former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev was released from a Munich hospital and is now recovering from his successful surgery to repair and injured left shoulder. Valuev wants to return to the ring as soon as possible. He is hoping to fight again in the first half of 2011 but nothing can be set because the recovery time for the shoulder is unknown.

Valuev is still a consideration to face WBA heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko next year. The "Russian Giant" has been away from the ring since losing a decision to David Haye in 2009. Valuev has left Germany and is heading to St. Petersburg, Russia.

"I feel really good. The actual recovery time is not yet known to the doctors or myself. I really want to return to the ring. And it is believed that I can come back. But in order to do this you have to be completely healthy," Valuev said.
