As reported last week on BoxingScene.com, the proposed bout between WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev (49-1, 34KOs) and former four-time heavyweight champon Evander Holyfield (42-9, 27KOs) is going to move forward on December 20 in Switzerland.

Don Majeski, the American agent for Sauerland Event, spoke with BoxingScene last week and said that a deal was in place.

"After a long and tedious negotiations process, I believe that we finally have a fight," Majeski said.

Promoter Don King and Valuev's manager Boris Dimitrov resisted the fight proposal by Sauerland, hoping to instead land a possible bout with Andrew Golota. Valuev, and his team, said they going to pick Holyfield if Golota was unable to fight them on the December date.

Earlier today in China, Golota was dropped and stopped in one round by Ray Austin. Golota suffered an injury to left arm in the contest, fully knocking him out from any chance of fighting Valuev in the near future. There have been reports that Golota may consider retirement.
