During a recent interview with German website Boxen, WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev challenged former champ Vitali Klitschko to meet him in the ring to prove who is the real deal and who is the phoney.

At a recent press conference held by Vitali Klitschko in Russia, he called Valuev a "Luftballon" when asked by a media member to give his opinion on the seven-foot Russian giant. What Klitschko meant, is that Valuev is nothing more than a PR project. Klitschko feels that Valuev is being hyped up by his promoters on the sole basis of his physical attributes and not his skill.

Valuev responded to Klitschko's comment by telling him to "prove it in the ring." He doesn't want to start a war of words in the media, he would rather get Klitschko in the ring to settle the dispute.

"The chance to find out which of us is a "Luftballoon" can be only happen in the ring. One can talk a lot. He should prove it in the ring. I don’t count myself among the loud talkers," Valuev said.
